Working Days Calculator

Enter a start and end date to count the working days between them — that is, Monday to Friday, excluding weekends. You'll also see the total calendar days and the number of weekend days.

What counts as a working day

A working day, or business day, is any weekday from Monday to Friday. This calculator includes both the start and end dates in the count and then removes the Saturdays and Sundays in between.

Public holidays are not deducted automatically because they differ from country to country and change each year. If you need to exclude specific holidays, subtract them from the working-day total shown.

Where working-day counts matter

Delivery and shipping estimates, payment terms ('net 30 business days'), service-level agreements, processing times for applications, and project schedules are usually measured in working days rather than calendar days.

Counting them by hand is tedious for longer ranges — this tool does it instantly and consistently.

Frequently asked questions

How many working days are between two dates?

Enter both dates and the calculator counts every Monday-to-Friday day between them (inclusive of both endpoints) and shows the total.

Are public holidays excluded?

No — only weekends are removed, because holidays vary by country and year. Subtract any relevant holidays from the result to get net working days.
